Italy's F1 driver Kimi Antonelli told reporters he'll be following both the Miami tennis final and the Austin MotoGP race from the airplane during his flight home from Japan, cheering for fellow Italian athletes Jannik Sinner and the nation's MotoGP riders.

Cross-Sport Support

Antonelli revealed he'd sent Sinner a good-luck text before the tennis star's Miami final. "I messaged Jannik last night wishing him the best," the Mercedes driver explained. "Now I'm hoping he can pull off the final win."

The gesture highlights a bond between two young Italian athletes competing at the highest levels of their respective sports. Sinner, who is a known motorsport enthusiast, has previously shown support for Italian racing achievements.

MotoGP and Italian Pride

Antonelli expressed his support for Italian MotoGP competitors, specifically mentioning Marco Bezzecchi and Francesco Bagnaia, noting he'd be tracking the Austin race during his return to Europe. "Even though I'll be mid-flight, I'll be cheering them on," he said.

The rare alignment of competitions—with F1, tennis, and motorcycle racing all taking place within the same timeframe—created an unusual moment for Italian sports fans to follow multiple athletes from their country competing simultaneously across different disciplines. For Antonelli personally, it meant relying on in-flight connectivity to stay informed of his peers' performances.
